Thankful Thursday Thanksgiving Edition

Happy Thanksgiving My friends!

Have I mentioned that this is my FAVORITE holiday? A day filled with Parades, dog shows, food and family. But most of all Thankfulness for grace and mercy given to me by a heavenly father that I so do not deserve. So here a 5 things in my life I am so thankful for. (Some serious... some not so much.)
1.  This dude. My second Thanksgiving with him (As a married couple) (it's actually our 6th together) and I am so excited to celebrate so many more with him.
2. My two families!
The Geisendorfer side that we will spend the next 4 day with.

And the Wills family that I spent all last weekend with!

 3. This lovely little lady who has come back home to us after a hiatus and vacation at my parents house!
Check out the sweet new hair cut and the rocking new coat!!

4. My church/work/friends to most people this category might be more than one but these days I don't know were small group, work, church ends and where friends begin. They all kind of blend together and I love it that way, I get to see so many people that I love every day and it just makes me such a happy gal!

5. As of tomorrow, IT'S CHRISTMAS SEASON!! That means that I can start decking the hall and playing the music, it's going to be an amazing Christmas this year!
Our cute little tree last year.
I just can't wait for all of the childhood favorite christmas movies and the Halmark specials!

I hope you all have a blessed thanksgiving and an amazing day!
(PS I'm THANKFUL for you)

Can't contain my excitement!

Happy Tuesday My friends!

Ok, I can't hold it in any longer I just have to spill! I know for some time I have been hinting at and waiting for change to come and there are a few people close to Ethan and I that have been on this journey with us. But I want to let the rest of the world know about our BIG CHANGE now that it's official!
On Friday Ethan and I had a whirlwind day as we left for a mini road trip (Mini qualifies as anything less than 3 hrs). I finished up work early and we headed to St. Louis. You might wonder what we were doing in St. Louis on a Friday afternoon. Well, while I was occupying my time with coffee and cameras and people watching in quaint lil Kirkwood....
A very happy place for me!

My amazing Husband was acing his Missouri Life and Health insurance exam! You heard me right insurance. Dear ole Ethan is officially an employee of Aflac, and will be selling insurance in the North Eastern region of Missouri! We are beyond thrilled.
To some this might seem like a bit of an over reaction to a job change and maybe it is, but E and I have been earnestly in prayer and waiting so patiently (sometimes not so patiently) for this. He has been on the job hunt for almost a year now, and I'm sure that doesn't seem that long, but when you are living day in and day out two different schedules it begins to wear on a couple. I'm not going to pretend that we aren't completely blessed and we are both completely grateful for the job that he had and the income that it provided but for us as a newly married couple it just wasn't the right fit for us any longer and we were so ready to begin the next chapter of our lives.
It almost seems surreal to be typing this, like I should be waiting or hedging our bets still, waiting for the other shoe to drop. You see in the last year or so that E has been on the job hunt there have been countless "No's" and "Not right nows" and I'm sure a few are to be expected but after several months of this, it was kind of difficult not to begin taking each one personal.
Either way we are now on the other side of that long cold climb and we are just brimming with excitement! Waiting with anticipation to see what God has in store for us in this next step. I just want to say thank you to all of our family and friends that have helped pray us through this season of wanting and waiting and for sticking by us when plans had to be rearranged or canceled because of wonky work schedules. We are so ready to take this leap of faith and are glad to have you all along for the ride!

This is one of our biggest praises this Thanksgiving week, what are you thankful for?

I will resist... Just 4 more days!

Happy Monday Friends.

Here's the deal. I have no idea what has gotten into me this year. Normally I have this massive soap box about "Christmas can wait" and "give Thanksgiving it's time" because I'll be the first to tell you, Thanksgiving really is my favorite holiday but I seem to have Christmas fever this year. For 3 weeks now I have been pining away to put my Christmas tree up and to begin listening to some of my favorite Christmas music.
I keep telling myself that I have to wait until after thanksgiving to really begin "Christmasing" and that I don't want to be burnt out on christmas when it actually gets here, but I am just like a kid this year! You would think I've been flipping through the big christmas catalog!
Even though Ethan and I haven't exactly established "tree trimming traditions" (say that 5 times fast :P) There are a few things that I look forward to every year.

1. A Charlie Brown Christmas. I just love the part where Linus tells the true meaning of Christmas! Seeing as I was the angel in the Christmas play at church every year I can quote that whole scene and I just love it!

2. Stockings. My parents always did a great job of making sure we had great Christmas memories, but one of my most cherished memories was every year clamoring for the mantle to take down the stockings and see what was in them. Sure they weren't the biggest or the shiniest presents but there is something so exciting about upending your stocking and dumping it out! Now i have introduced my husband to the tradition and and trying to teach him about proper "treats" to stash in stockings!

3. The music. It seems that I get a new Christmas Album of some sort every year, and personally I don't see anything wrong with that! My current favorite is Dave Barnes' "Very Merry Christmas"

I love Dave Barnes anyway but Him+Christmas= A fresh and fun twist on some Christmas favorites as well as some amazing new songs! (also if you haven't ever watched his Christmas videos on YouTube, you should definitely start a new tradition, because he is stinking HILARIOUS!)

Also I am hoping very much to get Francesca Battistelli's New Christmas Album as my annual addition to my collection!

4. The day after Christmas. This might sound like an odd favorite but when I was growing up Christmas day was always so exciting, with family, food and presents, that I would actually look forward to the evening as things would die down and we would come down from our sugar high and just chill and then the next day to just have my immediate family around cleaning up Christmas leftovers, watching Christmas movie marathons and giving our new presents a good work out. I still look forward to this almost as much as Christmas day!

In any case I am sure that by the end of the week I'll be un packing the boxes and digging into Christmas decorations!

When do you normally "bring out Christmas"? I know last night driving through St. Louis it seemed everyone took advantage of the warm weekend and hung all of their Christmas lights! Are you an after Thanksgiving Traditionalist or are you digging into Christmas on Nov. 1?

A snooze, a siesta, and a nap

Congratulations it's Friday eve. We've almost made it through the week. I always feel so accomplished when I make it this far in the week! I have to say though it's been a bit of a tough week as far as energy goes. I'm sure some of it has to do with the "only ok" way I've been eating, fresh fruits and veggies are good fuel, that much I know. But regardless of the cause it's been so though to get my lazy bum out of bed in the mornings to get to the gym and then again in the afternoons around 3 I am practically dozing at my desk. SO I am trying to do al the "right things" to help me not feel so sleepy all the time, such as getting 8hrs of sleep a night, and being more conscious of the fuel I put in my system, however there is one solution that I like very much. NAPS.

I stumbled upon this infographic the other day on Pinterest and it just fueled my cause! We need to bring naps back into style.

It also went on to tell how napping in actually proven to keep us healthier and that there are only 6% of businesses in the US that provide nap rooms and or times to go take naps. However we are one of the only countries in the world like that. Many other countries actually shut down for a siesta period in the middle of the afternoon and everyone just finds a quiet place to spend a few hours, sleeping or resting. Personally I LOVE the idea I wish we had a built in nap time each day.

So until I can solve the sleepiness issue I vote naps all around.
How about you do you take naps, or do you seem to fit in enough hours over night? Isn't ironic that when we're young we don't want to nap for fear of missing out on something but now that we're older we realize there is nothing sweeter than a nap!

All About the Look

Hello my darling friends,

I've been rather sparse around these parts lately. Can't seem to push past this silly writers block, but I am attempting to come up with some fun ideas that will help with that. With that and the holidays coming up I am hoping that you'll be hearing lots from me!
I don't know what the weather has been like for you lately but since the weekend it's been down right frigid here! I believe it was 28* on Monday morning when I got up! Yikes! Penguins anyone?
Anyway the cooler weather has me in the mood for some cozy clothes! I realized the other day, when one of my sweaters came out of the laundry completely chewed that I might be in the market for an updated fall wardrobe. Now wether my bank account agrees with my closet is another story but I did some online "window shopping" just because!
I have a pretty generic taste when it comes to clothes, fairly sweet, simple and cute is my motto. Also dresses and cardigans are always in season. Period. So naturally some of my favorite stores carry these types of items first would be Target. I know my hubby can't see the difference between Target and Walmart or why I would drive almost 2 hours to the nearest one just to shop but Target holds a special place in my heart no matter what he thinks. Maurices is right up there on the list, though I generally shop the clearance rack when I am there. (Who am I kidding? I shop the clearance rack EVERYWHERE.) Oh and one of my newer favorite stores is Francesca's. So classy and cute.
Without further ado here are a few of my favorite fall picks!
Who doesn't love boots? I have just about worn through every pair I have so I am seriously desiring a cute new pair or two or six... Also those little heels just caught my eye, they look adorable and practical!
I have been all about the scarves for quiet some time. I must confess I do already own probably 20 scarves and that's not an exaggeration. But I can always use more. Truth be told the big trend right now that I am giving into is the big patterns. Stripes. Polka dots. I would love a few with those! Oh and how adorable is that ruffly burgundy scarf? It feels so girly and dressy. I know that there is a necklace up there as well, I'm in love with the statement necklaces even though I have yet to purchase one. This one seemed like the perfect fall accessory in that deep hunter green.
Lastly, this girl adores sweaters. Seriously. I am so cold natured that I can live in long sleeved garments 3/4 of the year. As I said before I am head over heels for the bold stripes this yeas so it's no surprise that several up there have them. Argyle is so stinking classic that I really need at least one of those in my closet as well as that academy cardigan. That a-semtrical one arm stripe slays me. I also can't pass up a lovely sweater dress, I think that one would look so cute with some tights and brown ankle boots, and if you get cold a light weight brown boy friend cardigan. Sounds just perfect to moi!
So the next time I come into some grand windfall I just might be hitting up the mall to collect these lovelies that need to come home with me.
What are your some of your favorite fall fashions? Are you into sweaters and boots like I am or you more of a parka person? :)

Living Room Redo

Good Morning my bloggie friends,
How was your weekend? I had such a busy weekend, but you know what? I feel like sometimes those busy ones are the most fun.
I have a project that I have been working on a little at a time for a while. I have been wanting to re do the rather large wall over our couch for a while. It's a nice big space (albeit dark from the wood) but I knew I wanted to do something different with it. First of all I have light blue linen curtains and then I won some spiffy wall art from Aly's Blossom and Vine Shop so I kind of picked my theme around those colors. Teal and kind of light blue. Ever since then I have been gathering ideas from *ahem* Pinterest *ahem* and such and have also slowly gathering supplies. In the last few weeks I started putting together my little hand made gallery wall.

This is a simple idea, a raised phrase on a canvas. I have made these in the past for wedding gifts and decided it was time my home had one as well.

I have wanted for quite a while to make some kind of project with pieces of a map and I finally decided on how I wanted to it and made it into the one Ethan approved project in the gallery.
Then I decided to have some fun with paint chips. Being OCD I had to organize them of course but then I framed them and they made a lovely piece!

Lastly of course I had to just frame a cute little green G. I just love monograms! I feel like it just completes my little gallery wall.
Most of these were simple crafts but I had a blast putting them together and once the whole wall was complete it all came together rather nicely.

So what have you crafted lately? Have you made anything "Pinteresting" lately?

I have had a lot of fun giving my living room a facelift. I have one more little project to complete the room be on the look out for that soon!

A Simple Story

Everything was so new, the places, the food, the people. She was scared out of her mind, but she knew that this was the right path for her so she pressed on. Overwhelmed at times she slowly began to come out of her shell and make a small group of friends. Ironically they all seemed to be extroverts to her quiet introvert. After having been in her new home for 5 days the girls new friends finally convinced her to brave the outside and have some fun for the night. The small group of friends ventured to the coffee shop for a quiet evening of games and small talk.
There was chatter all around and so many faces and conversations to take in, but from across the room there was one face that caught her eye. He was self assured, tall, blond and had an easy laugh. She smiled at the goofy gestures he was making but was far too shy to say a word, let along cross the room.
Weeks passed and she began to think that the tall blond boy was a figment of her imagination. The from out of nowhere mutual friends aligned and there he was, several nights in a row and before she knew it acquaintances were made, friendships were formed and lots of time was spent watching movies and hanging out.
Before long they found themselves saving seats at dinner and taking walks in the evenings. Then it happened the friendship became something more, there were phone calls to fathers and then one cold evening under a sky full of stars that tall blond cutie asked me to go steady.
(I can't believe how young we look!)
Yes, 5 years ago on Nov. 11 the cutest boy I know asked me to be his girlfriend. One of the easiest answers in my life. I can't believe that I have know this man for over a 5th of my life and we have so many amazing memories together. I'm glad that God brought you into my life Ethan Jameson. And I am so incredibly thankful that you picked me. Here's to another amazing 5 years and many, many more.
Thank you Jesus for the biggest blessing in my life. He is more than I deserve.

A Change in the Wind Says I

First of all you guys are amazing. Seriously, I am topping out over 5000 page views. Seriously 8 months ago I just opened up my little corned of the world. A place to go, and think and savor coffee, some friends, and some Jesus time. I'm so completely blessed to now share this space with all of you my sweet chums.
Second the past four days have been incredibly amazing! My weekend started with some craftiness. That's what Saturday's are for after all. I have been meaning to reworking the art over our couch and have been collecting all the pieces and supplies and on Saturday I started the Artsy process.

Just a sneak peek of some of my pieces, once I get them put together I'll show you all the finished project!
Then we had a double date with our favorite Bradsahws. Seriously those peeps their amazing and it's so good to have friends that we relate to so well. Fiddlesticks, bowling, cookie making it made for an amazing evening with 3 of my favorite people.
Sunday was yet another couples day. E's College roommate Matt came to visit us and he brought his lovely lady Sammi Jo with him. We spent all day just hanging out and spending time with them. God has blessed us with wonderful people around us.

On Monday I had the most epic of Monday's ever. It was the first Monday of the month so that means All Staff meetings at The Crossing. For the Month of November we had some staff bonding time by watching The Avengers on the Silver Screen in the Orpheum. So I started my week, hanging out with the wonderful people I work with watching an amazing movie. No better way.
Then after a nice normal Tuesday, Yesterday I painted till I couldn't paint no
mo! But the office is really coming along. After several weeks of slowly collecting and working we are just about there and after many talks on what color to paint the walls it's finally the icing on the cake. We are almost a real working office, here in good lil Hannimo.

So what did your weekend look like? Did you get all artsy crafty or did you go bowling? Hope you week has started off amazing, and that if you have to paint that you have a full set of helping hands! :)

So take a laugh break and enjoy the cuteness overload! Happy Weekend friends.

High 5 for Friday

Friday is here! AND Its November. My oh my, where has the year gone? I Said in January that 2012 was going to be our year and you know it really has been busting with blessings. We still have one prayer that we hope to see, but we know God's timing is perfect.
I know I have mentioned it in the past but Autumn is my favorite time of year so this week I give you the High 5 for Friday Fall Edition!
 1. {Warm Drinks, Tea, Coffee, Chai. Hmmmm}
